After failing a fitness test at the police academy I had 8 weeks to prepare for a re-test. I trained for 3 weeks almost everyday on my own but didn’t seem to be getting anywhere, so my wife organised for me to see Angus.

He trained me twice a week and gave me one day of homework. After 5 weeks I went from not being able to make the minimum score of 5.1 on the beep test, to getting 6.1 and passing the rest of the academy fitness test easily.

I continued with his training plan whilst at the academy and improved my beep test even further to 7.1 and my flexibility test improved another 7 cms. As a by-product of the training I have also lost 7 kilos and at 53 I feel super fit and the best I have for a long time- thanks to Angus.

I wanted to get fit, gain strength and lose weight. I knew it would take time and discipline so decided to engage a personal trainer so that my resolve to get fitter and stronger would not weaken.

Angus takes me through 2 sessions of strength training. I enjoy my 2 early morning sessions each week. My progress has been steady and I have now introduced 3 x 4 km walks and two Pilates sessions to my program.

With my new eating program as the last addition to my long term plan I am feeling very positive, have more energy and have a new body shape. The initial pain has certainly been worth the gain.

Personal Training is hard work but great fun, especially when we can train together! We can really feel the difference with our fitness level and core strength, even though we thought we were fairly fit and active to begin with.

Combining the sessions together, it's a team effort. We can push each other to go the extra mile or to gang up on Angus! He still has the upper hand though, he designs the sessions to accommodate our individual preferences, needs and weak areas. No session is ever exactly the same, and there is no time for boredom!

We feel it is important to enjoy exercise to be able to get the most out of it. We may complain how tired and sore we are by the end of a session, but guaranteed we always look forward to coming back the following week!

We recommend it to everyone!

As someone who suffers from type 1 Diabetes and in my early forties I decided I needed to do something before I suffered further health issues as a result.

When I first started with Angus I struggled to even do 10 lunges but now I can do them quite comfortably and even sneak out a few chin ups! My blood sugar levels always drop after the exercise and as a result I need less insulin.

I’m not normally into exercise but having the appointments with Angus has helped motivate me to do it. Now the motivation comes from seeing the weight moving off my chest and my belt getting looser. All it has taken is two sessions a week and I feel much better for it.
